OOPS I’VE DONE IT AGAIN

Yep, it’s been almost six months since I last wrote in this blog. But… I do have justification… smiles sadly. As many of you know me and my rl situation, my beloved Duderz passed away Oct 1st… 2022. He was my rock, my foundation, my soulmate and I had a real tough time holding it together. We all knew it was coming, and he surpassed the doctors timeline for him by two years, those were bonus years I am grateful for, even though he suffered more and more each month. He was such a trooper and still made jokes and made those around him laugh and look at life in his silly way of accepting God’s will. I am happy he no longer suffers and is in supposedly a pain free zone… and I like to think he watches over me still as I continue this journey we call ‘real life’.

I’ve tried to do things that should help me through the process, sometimes when I think about it I say “OMG it’s only been a little over three months since he’s been gone”. Other times it feels like a lifetime of sorrow and grief and I wish it would end! I started a new blog about how to become an elderly widow… especially for those that were together with their loves more than fifty years. I redid the living room, the front porch and am working on the spare bedroom. I colored my grey to a beautiful brown with highlights and got a hair cut. I took a Road Trip and drove over 3,000K miles alone and proved to myself I am self sufficient. I spent Thanksgiving with my daughter and grandchildren and then spent Christmas alone with my memories and love of Jim to keep me warm.

Now what! HOPE! I am planning some fun times in the future… to go and meet friends I’ve had in SL for over 15 years and to see some of our beautiful USA countryside. Maybe do a couple cruises ? and the biggie… visit Europe, mainly Scotland and Ireland where my ancestors come from.

I have eased back into to my Virtual Lives… and am enjoying the escape that Second Life and Open Sim offers. But this time I am trying to keep a good balance between the two Real Life and Virtual Life. I watched ‘Ready Player One’ again the other night and the last words were exactly what I needed to not fall off this Earth and become…. a stat.

“…the OASIS will be completely shut down on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing folks to connect with one another in the real world.” Ready Player One… yes I am Ready! Are YOU?

NOVEMBER NOTABLES

November was a HUGE month for notable events that Sunbeam was a part of.  Sun started off with the Premiere  of the Immersive Edge, a hypergrid story, then on to the celebration of being an avatar at the AvatarFest and then the exciting Grand Opening of Leighton Marjoram’s new grid ‘Lighthouse Point’.  There was a Birthday party for Nara’s Nook, Happy Birthday Two Years Old! AND her home grid GCG (Great Canadian Grid) celebrated their Two Years Old Birthday!  and Sun and the team of VISIONZ produced their biggest issue ever with a whopping 90 page edition.

Christmas came to our Virtual Worldz with lots of winter regions popping up to explore and Ice Skating parties to attend.  Naturally our party girl, Sunbeam,  jumped in with both wings! She set up a Free Christmas shop at her friend Linda Kellie’s Christmas region on GCG and she also built a little Christmas scene at the Winterfest Expo on the Tangle Grid.

Of course in between all these notable events Sun went to HG tours, concerts and parties, enjoyed a private tour of her friends’ Anna and Steve Ford’s ‘Pet Gallery’, plus her friend Jessie Campbell taught her how to play the game ‘Greedy’.  May of been beginners luck but Sun won both games they played! Sun also did some fun exploring and went shopping and bought some new gowns.

Sun also set up two new shops in AAcme City, one a Mermaid shop and the other Aine’s Statues (Of course all items are free to copy).  She did some landscaping around the city (terraforming really relaxes us), added some animals to the forest and cleaned up some areas that were overly primmy.  She moved the Halloween graveyard to a new area by the AAcme Airport and ser up her Happy Holidays HO HO HO area in it’s place.  All in All November was a busy, fun and exciting month for this little Fae!

A high note in Sunbeam’s life was when she took her friend Scarlet ‘Abby’ Rose to meet Elsie and Anna, Scarlet’s idols,  at Fred Beckhusen’s Ice Castle on his Outworldz grid.  Scarlet was so excited and really loved riding the dragons.  Scarlet was born with MD and is a very special young lady who guided by her nurse and my virtual sister, Kat Ewry finds fun and love in the virtual environment.

A low note in Sunbeam’s life was when she lost her dear friend and virtual nephew, one of the great musicians of our worldz, hunter Montgomery to a heart attack.  hunter went peacefully in his sleep; may he rest in peace as he lives on in our hearts.  Also there was the world wide tragedy  of the terrorists attack in Paris, France.  Sun has many friends in the Franco grid and was thrilled to hear that all of them were safe and survived this unfathomable incident.

If I must say what the most notable event that happened in Sunbeam’s journey it has to be when she FINALLY broke down and used her voice.  Yes, she does has a voice.  Ever since ‘Voice’ came out in Second Life (about 10 years ago) Sunbeam was distinctly opposed to it.  Sunbeams’ typist being hard to hear and having ear problems most of her life aslo was against the activating their voices.  The awful sounds from the ear plugs and the ear splitting feedback and the confusion of 20 avatars talking at once hurt their sensitive ears.  Even though Sun’s ears are huge and pointy, they don’t work well at all!  Plus she really liked ‘type text’ where she could always go back and review conversations, maybe something she missed or needed to make note of.  One night after a party everyone was chatting and having a gay old time while Sun was typing away and no one noticed. We decided right then to ‘activate’ our voice and early the next morning she went to her friend Daisy Coronet who patiently taught her how to use the voice system.  Thank you Daisy!

As has become our custom, here are a few pictures taken during the month of November… please enjoy the slideshow showing the fun Sunbeam has in her virtual worldz with family and friends this month of November 2015:

AUGUST ADVENTURES

August was an unusual month for Sunbeam, as about ten (10) of those days Dude and I were off in the RL grid on summer vacation. August was a lonely month as many other virtual friends also take off into the RL and are greatly missed.  Well, let me tell you when Sun returned to her world, she made up for lost time and went to a dozen or so concerts and music events, whoa slow down girly!!!  Sunbeam’s partying even went to the extreme of dancing in her birthday suit, baring it all at Hedonism, Refuge Grid.

Sun got herself a couple new outfits: one from the returned and beloved Linda Kellie Free templates, a mesh mini dress. Her second new outfit was a gift from the Guest Writer, Linda Diva (in Augusts’s VISIONZ magazine issue).  Her third new outfit was gifted by Shannan Albright, called Fantasia.  Sun felt so behind and was in such a hurry to publish on time, she made a real boo-boo adding the wrong picture set to the wrong article, (oops and ugh!) but all in all the magazine was well received.  Sunbeam is truly a blessed fairy with so many kind and giving friends.

Sun got right to work on her HG Story, Scene Five (with Nara’s Nook grid), and Sun attended a most informative NPC seminar put on by Nara Malone. I think even though she was totally overwhelmed,  a few things did penetrated her virtual brain and my old real life brain.  Giggles.  She is such a lucky little Fairy having Fred Beckhusen work with her on her Scene Five portion of the HG Story.  He has spent hours and hours patiently teaching her how to do animations and make her NPC’s walk, talk and come to life!

Sun made sure to check all her scripts and teleporters on AAcme City and at her FREEBIE store after the great move to a new servers hosting company (Great Canadian Grid).  She also visited her friends Kat and Lion Ewry’s new regions on GCG kayaking around and visited her friend, Kamira Sirnah’s completed Bath House and Temples.  Wowsa to both regions’ fanastic look!  She also went to the Drum Circle and the Market Day weekly events on the GCG The River Lands. There she learned how to gather essentials and bake bread.  Time permitting Sunbeam is planning on engaging in Role Play with tRL perhaps starting sometime in January 2016.  Smiles.

Well my fellow virtual world adventurers, I believe we have inundated you with plenty of pictures and chat reliving the month of August through Sunbeam’s eyes.  ♥As always my valued friends and soon to be friends, Step in Sunshine! ♥

July Highs

July was a extremely hot month for my rl self, while my vr self saw ‘hawt’ things exploring the Metaverse.  Sun attended meetings, some cool parties and concerts (Mr. Mikie String and Torben Asp) and published a great issue of her VISIONZ magazine. She visited the Wizard of Oz (Kitely, Talia Sunsong)  and Alice in Wonderland (Franco, Cherry Manga)!  She also worked diligently on her contribution to the HG Story, Scene five. There were two tour groups who visited her beloved AAcme City in the month of July (HG Nights and HG Safari).  She also went to see her bff’s (Minethere Always) new huge 4×4 var region on Metropolis grid.  AND she won first place in a Kayak contest at the Grand Opening of Brantley No. 3 (Kitely, Ruby O’Degee).

Overall Sun had some really fun high times the first part of this summer.  Summer means sun and fun. Hope you’re haviing a wonderful Summer so far too!

Below is a slide show capturing some of her adventures.  Enjoy and always ‘Step in “Sunshine” with a happy attitude viewing your worlds with awe!

JUNE BLOOMS

June was filled with magical realism in Sunbeam’s virtual worlds.  Sun experienced many magical moments such as being a “Guest Guide” for the HG Tour group ‘Metaverse Tours‘,  The group visited Tangle grid’s Kling Kingdom, Aqualand on Metropolis and The River Lands on Great Canadian grid:

Sun also enjoyed visiting with friends and family and going on many HG tours and trying out the new daredevil jump on our 2nd level roads and overall she had way too much FUN spreading Sunbeams.

June, the sunny month, shiny and as bright as the magic in our hearts ♥As always my valued friends and soon to be friends, Step in Sunshine!

April Diamonds

April is my favorite month of all!  When I was little mom always made me wear my yellow galoshes~ eccky in April! The rains fell like little sparkly diamonds from the sky and us kids would  jump and hoop and holler in every puddle we found.  April showers do bring flowers! Beautiful flowers! and April brings LOVE!  April 4th is The Dude and mine’s 42nd wedding anniversary! Both our children were born in April! And April has EARTH Day! What an awesome month April is!

The last half of March found Sunbeam working hard in her virtual worlds and thinking about some fun time ahead.  She is thinking of role playing on Virtual Highway grid as a Na’vi named ” Tsawke” meaning Sun of course.  She got her skin, her bow and some cool outfits!  Tsawke enjoys music and plays a flute.  Should be lots of fun!

The Barnyard Bash hosted by Lion and Kat Ewry on Island Oasis was a huge success on the 19th of March with lots of great costumes and fun times with BG Singer and DJVickie Day.  Sun started learning how to make virtual world videos and did a little ditty of the bash.  You can see all her videos at http://www.youtube.com/user/kathiebhess. Lion and Kat Ewry also hosted a impromptu Birthday party for Scarlet “Abby” Rose, Kat’s evening patient who was born with Muscular Dystrophy.  A very special young lady.  Sun did a video for Scarlet too. Smiles!

Over on Olantica grid Sun is still working hard adding details and finishing touches to the Hidden Glenn region.  Free home land for any non-human avatar.   She made the ‘Firesinger’ bakery and coffee shop for new visitors to relax and meet the locals.  There is also a shop full of Zadaroo.com free avatars made by Linda Kellie and some furniture and things to help set up your home.  Most items on the region are Free to Copy … so go take a look!

Sunbeam also got one of the free regions Zetamex offered and had it set up on Metropolis grid.  She called it SunbeamS naturally.  Metropolis also had a Rock Opera performance on the 30th of March (with her favorite actress Minethere Always) which Sun attended and made a video once again! Of course one must go to the show and hear the original songs and feel the message being carried.  The show is called ‘The Change’ and you can search for show times on Second Life or Metropolis grids.

Tundra 3D was down for a few days but as soon as it was back up Sunbeam got her hard hat and tools and started tackling the huge Castle she is making on her region ‘Fariytopia’ there.  The four story staircase is fit for any Queen or Princess to float down to her waiting subjects. He he he.  The Mushroom forest is coming along nicely and Sun recently had her first visitor, Tetsuya from Japan, stop by for a visit.  I just love meeting new people from around our globe.

Sun also visited Tertiary grid to see the progress of AAmce ‘The Dude’ Fall’s newest project… Dealy Plaza, Dallas Texas.  This year is the 50th Anniversary of the JFK Assassination and Dude is making a to scale virtual Dealy Plaza where the tragedy occurred.  To this day, many believe it was a ‘cover up and conspiracy’ while others believe it was a ‘lone nut’ Lee Harvey Oswald.  Will the mystery ever be settled?

Sun attended one concert on Island Oasis ‘Shanye Jonstone’, a great songtress and fun times with friends!  She also helped her friend Judy Muricastle to test her build rezzer so folx can demo her new mesh homes! Jon came by to meet Judy and help out too.  Always great to be with friends.

Enjoy the pictures Sun took and as always, if you see this pixie fluttering around any of the grids, shout out a HELLO!  Step in Sunshine.

Busy as a Bee *:-.,_,.-:*:-.,_,.-:**:-.,_,.-:*

If the first half of February was slow going for Sunbeam the second half found her zigzagging from grid, back and forth, to grid, while trying to juggle up many projects with deadlines and many start ups, new opportunities and adventures.  Where to start! giggles… oh we visited Second Life a couple times too and thoroughly enjoyed being back in our legacy world.

First, after Valentines’ Sunbeam took down the hearts, flowers and chocolates from her shop ‘SunbeamS’ located on OLanatic  being true to her heart she is setting up Fantasy items for the new look!  Zigzag on to 3rg (3rd Rock Grid) to help with Robstock 2013 by setting up a booth in the venue area and posting lots of info on Facebook and Google+. This year Haven Your World grid was added to the simulcast of the event along with Second Life, long time partner.  Of course Sunbeam had to zigzag over to Haven too!  All for a great  cause, the charity ‘Doctors without Borders‘.  The event raised 850$ USA dollars to donate.  Great job VW and GH avatars around the world!

Zigzag now over to Island Oasis and Sunbeams start work on a new contest build, theme: Beach Club.  Visions in my head swirl as I fly over through the metaverse of under`the`sea colors and mermaids float across my focus.  Sunbeam did not win the contest but had a grand time playing with the prims and be part of the contestants circle.  According to one founder, Sunbeam did come in second place Woot hoo! Also visited my friends Kat and Lion and and exclaimed what a great job she is doing on her Space house.  Kat and I went to the new zombie region too and danced and explored.  The region reminded me of AAcme City quite often.

Next (usually in the wee hours of the morning when most sleep and the world outside my window is quiet elegance) Sunbeam stealthily  zigzags over to Tundra 3D where the kind owners, Lucio and Avon, (romantic Italians ladies!), have provided Sunbeam with a sim..  Thank you!  Sunbeam will  never ‘finish’ this project, she insanely doesn’t care! She is having too much fun!  We are dreaming of  a Fairytopia… a work of love, where creatures of all types can drop in for a chat and some peace.  A stroll thru colors and warmth.

Sunbeam then spent more time in Metropolis with her dear friend Miney (Minethere Always) playing with toys, working on a Steampunk region and discussing the most wonderful and important issues of the day… Virtual Worlds, are they here to stay?  ROFL

Sunbeam did find some time to go dancing with friends in a few different grids and at one party won $375 P’s for a Best in Beachwear contest… heck we all had on bikini’s so I think it was my pale glittery pink skin that really won 🙂 Sunbeam told them her skin was made by sunrise kisses. Giggles. A grand time with hostess Vickie Day was had by all who came.  Vickie embarrassed Sun by saying it was Sun who gave Vickie her very first DJ gig in InWorst and at a nude region too.  LOL Fun times years ago! Of course my friend and special talented artist Torben Asp played for Doctors without Borders at the Robstock event and the donation thermometer went off the charts while Torben performed his magic particle show playing his soul wrenching music in accompaniment.  A real treat for everyone!

Sunbeam took lots and lots of pictures while grid hopping and will drop the best ones for your viewing pleasure below with captions.  She is trying to be more ‘arsty’ fartsy, as she likes to call it, and took a few weirdo snapshots and insisted on posting them on her blog,   sooooooo Enjoy!   Forgive her impertinence! She gets over eXcited while fluttering from grid to grid like the bee who flutters from flower to flower takes in the fragrance of life.  What a magical secret garden sort of life Sunbeam lives!

Step in Sunshine! and if you feel like doing a quick little jigsaw puzzle, pop over to SunbeamS Jib tab on top of the blog.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Sunbeam wasn’t as active the last couple weeks at her Grid Hopping.  Plus, a technical disaster happened at WHAT virtual world and the founder decided it best to closed the grid completely after days of trying to repair the damage.  The best he could do was roll back to November 2012 and let the members know what happened.  He’s a stand up guy.  Many other grid have had ‘technical’ issues or closed  up without a word to their members.  I was proud to be part of the WHAT core crew.   We were right in the middle of making a new Welcome area and setting up Free parcels for new member when it happened.  It’s been a week now, we  miss WHAT,  but are certainly grateful for the time  spent there sharing space with the wonderful  new friends I met and my partners in crimes for a long time exploring and visiting virtual worlds of the metaverse.

Isis’ New Spot @ Tundra 3D

Sunbeam was lucky enough to dance and laugh and  share good times with long time  her  friend Mikey McIntrye while he was spinning some of the best Blues on 3rd Rock . What a wonderful grand time reminiscing about our days together a couple years past when we planned parties on a region called Decades.  Those were the days my friend!

When  Grid Hopping over to Metropolis to see Minethere Always’ new Steampunk project Sunbeam fell into the middle of a impromptu party.  She made a new friend,  saw a couple familiar faces and had a fun time.  The Euro feel of this grid and friendly members makes it a fun hop.  Sunbeam is now working on a Steampunk Gazebo for Miney’s next Free Theme OAR to be given away free to anyone that asks.  We’ll share pictures of that build next post.

FLYING IN WHAT_001

Flying out for more VW Grid Hopping Adventures

Spent some quality time with a couple bff’s’ Kat Ewry and lynne lundquist at Kat’s new shop  Lady K jewelry.  She is so amazing at it! We envy her talents.  Anyhoo, the three of us are planning doing up Lion and Kat’s newest acquistion, another region making four now.   We’re thinking castles on top and a full region glorious magical merfolk and scuba diving  under the sea fantasia.  Sunbeam’s speciality.  On Second Life we have avatar Kohana Schimmer who has been a mermaid creature  since 2008.  Island Oasis is also having another building contest this one themed “Beach” so Sunbeam joined in and building a nightclub themed …. mermaids of course.  She is calling it SirenS Club and will share some pictures with you next post.   Wish her luck, she could be winner of 5000 Ps ♥

HOW MANY ARE TOO MANY?

Greetings! its been 3 months since my last post and as always I can’t believe that much time has passed so quickly.   I’ve been very busy in many VWz. Since my ban (Feb 2011) I believe I’ve joined at at least two dozen grids or so.  Just today I told myself and another banned friend that in the new year 2013 I’m gonna reduce my blogs down to two and my vw’z down to six or seven lol.

Its true each is a bit different in feel and atmosphere as you roam their sims and explore the marvelous visions of the creators brought to life with pixels.  What’s really amazing is how you run into old friends and make new friends everyday by visiting lots of grids.  I now consider myself a true blue (actually I’m a pink skinned fae)  ‘Gridhopper’ ! And not to toot my own horn, but open sim VW have given me the tools and indirectly the self confidence I need to be a good creator.  I love building… big builds, little builds, any builds!

Which VW’z have you joined you ask? Why let me list them…  WHAT Virtual World, Avatar Connection, Third Rock (3rg), 3dMee (by invite only), Craft, Island Oasis, Haven, Lost Paradise, Metropolis, Olantic, Science Sim, SpotOn3D, Kitely, OSgrid (in no particular order).  A few I went to and hard troubles so didn’t go back… one when I downloaded their software broke my computer and it took weeks to get it fix.  Lol Anyway those are just a few I can name off the top of my head. And I’m sure I’ll be trying out more as I hear about them.

Virtual Worldz are the places I enjoy being when interneting! Here I am asking Santa for ‘Peace and Happiness’ for all worlds, real or virtual!  If you see me in a world, stop and say Hello! I love to chat.  Happy Gridhopping!
